Harold L. Bertrand, 92, of Mexico, died Monday morning, April 9, 2018, at his home in Mexico.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 13, 2018, at St. Brendan Catholic Church with Fr. Mark Porterfield officiating. There is no visitation. Burial will be in St. Brendan Cemetery. Pickering Funeral is handling the arrangements.

Harold was born in Sloan, Iowa, on July 7, 1925. His parents were Louis and Lucille (Koon) Bertrand. On August 12, 1947, in Salix, Iowa, he married Marie "Theresa" Jauron. Mrs. Bertrand preceded him in death on Nov. 16, 2016.

Harold farmed most of his life. He also worked at Central Missouri Livestock Center for around 25 years, and he and his wife owned and managed rental properties. He loved to travel and to play guitar. He was a member of St. Brendan Catholic Church.

His survivors include two sons, Mike Bertrand and wife Barb, Farmington, Mo., and Bob Bertrand and wife Wanda, Mexico; two daughters, Colleen Sanders and husband Dan, Millersburg, Mo., and Tami Trabue and husband Bob, Mexico; one brother, Lee Bertrand, Shelbina; and one sister, Shirley Erlandson, of California; 12 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, Timothy and Daniel Bertrand; and nine brothers and sisters.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial be given to St. Brendan Catholic Church. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
