Hazel C. Haerer, 97 of Mexico, died at 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at Pin Oaks Living Center in Mexico.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, January 11, 2019, at Pickering Funeral Home with Rev. Woody Berry and Bob Stanford officiating. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Hazel was born January 3, 1922, in Mexico, the daughter of A. Clay and Della (Pfitzer) Crews. On April 25, 1946, in Mexico, she married Martin O. Haerer, who preceded her in death on March 13, 1977.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Mexico. She worked 13 years at AMC as a Medical Records Clerk. She enjoyed following the grandkids sports, watching sports on television, especially the Cardinals and she also enjoyed sewing, cooking, and needlepoint.

Survivors include two daughters, Donna Haerer, Mexico, and Jill Winterhalter, Mexico; one daughter-in-law, Judy Haerer, Mexico; nine grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, James and Russ Haerer; one infant daughter; one sister Helen Doebelin; and one grandson, James Walter William.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
