Ida Mae Williams


Ida Mae Williams, 90, of Mexico, died at 4:20 p.m. Nov. 6, 2007, at Golden Living Center Pin Oaks.


Graveside services under the direction of Pickering Funeral Home will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday in the shelter at Elmwood Cemetery. The Rev. Melodie Eisenhofer will officiate. There will be no visitation.


Mrs. Williams was born on December 9, 1916, in Wellsville, a daughter of Arthur Garfield and Ada Belle (Cobb) Whitehead. On September 18, 1940, in Mexico, she married Louis Anderson Williams, who died on February 19, 1992. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mexico and Presbyterian Women. She had worked as a secretary at Reed Electric.


Survivors include one sister-in-law, Ethel Whitehead, Mexico, and two nieces, Patricia Whitehead, Mexico, and Sheryl Kane, Kansas City.


In addition to her husband, one sister Lula Mason, one brother Otis Whitehead, and an infant brother Bule Whitehead, preceded her in death.


The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
