James Danser

James Weart Danser, 89, of Mexico died Tuesday May 10, at The Golden Living Center/Gamma Road, Wellsville.

A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Friday June 3, 2011, at The First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Terry Kukuk officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the ceremony from 6 to 7 p.m.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Alice Gallaudet Danser. In addition,he is survived by his grand children, Mark Hayward Danser, his wife Beverlee Danser of Brooklyn, N.Y., Lisa Marie Danser, her husband Dan Rigazzi, great grandson Domenic Rigazzi of Kew Gardens, N.Y., a sister Sydney Henderson of Carmel California, and three nieces, Penelope Demarest of Seaside, CA, Georganne Demarest, Carmel, CA, Margaret Scott-Smith of Eureka, CA,agrand and great niece and nephew. He is also survived by hisstep children Paula A. Giesa of Las Vegas, NV, Nancy H. Espin of Reno, NV, Peter R. Frohwein of Aurora, CO. Jim has six step nieces and nephews, three step grandsons, two step-granddaughters, and numerous step great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Jim was born in Long Branch New Jersey to Vivian Otterson Danser and Stanley Arthur Danser. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from Colgate University in Hamilton New York followed by his Masters Degree in Geological Engineering from The University of Missouri at Columbia.

Jim, A World War II Veteran, served as asurgical medic in the 307th Airborne Medical Company of the 82nd Airborne Division. He was both a paratrooper and a gliderest. After the war in the 50 s he was in the National Guard in Mexico.

Jim was an active member and former president of the noon Mexico Kiwanis Club, a former president of the Missouri section of the American Institute of Professional Geologists andaformer chairman of the Small Business Administration Score Chapter of Mexico. He assisted with the construction of the first two habitat for humanity houses in Mexico. He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mexico. He retired from a long career with A.P. Green Industries, Inc. where he was raw materials manager in the research department. He also was a Life Member in the American Legion. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 26.
