James "Jim" Deardorff, 80, of Lake Ozark, Mo., formerly of Mexico, passed away at 2:59 p.m., Sunday, November 21, 2021, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 26, 2021, at Pickering Funeral Home with Deacon Lou Leonatti officiating. Burial will follow in St. Brendan Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.

Jim was born August 29, 1941, in Mexico, the son of Stanley and Margaret (O'Brien) Deardorff. On December 28, 1960, in Nashville, Tennessee, he married Sue Mitchell who survives.

Jim worked for 27 years at Kaiser Brick Refractories. Following that he owned J&S Sales and Service where he and Sue did automobile sales and sold chrome bumpers for over 30 years.

He was a member of Streetmasters and founder of the Magic Dragon car shows at the Lake of the Ozarks.  He enjoyed fishing, restoring old cars, attending car shows and cruises, attending Nascar and sprint car races.

In addition to his wife Sue, he is survived by one son, Tim Deardorff, of Mexico; one daughter, Jamie Deardorff, of Mexico; one granddaughter, Amanda Veasman and husband Joseph, of Columbia; and two great granddaughters, Alexandra and Samantha Veasman.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
