James Doyle Jones, 81, of Mexico, died at 4:36 p.m., Friday, Apr. 13, 2012, at his home.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Apr. 17, 2012, at Pickering Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Ostrom officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from Noon until service time. Interment will be in East Lawn Memorial Park.

James was born Feb. 9, 1931, in Dixie, Mo., a son of Emery Houston and Hallie Moore (Dolman) Jones. On Dec. 10, 1949,in Fulton, he married Naomi Leone Fulkerson, who survives at the home.

Mr. Jones worked for 47 years at A.P. Green Refractories. He retired in 1993. He was a member of the Firebrick and Clay workers union and had served as an officer. He was a member of the former Liberty Methodist Church in Dixie, Mo.

James loved to fish and ride his 4-wheeler with his dog Cocoa. He was a very faithful blood donor.

In addition to his wife survivors include two sons, Danny Lee Jones and wife Debi, Centralia, and Eddie Jones and wife Mary, Perry; one daughter, Carol Tratchel, Mexico; four grandchildren, Jason Tratchel and wife Rena, Columbia, J.D. Jones, Kansas City, Justin Jones, Perry, and Dillon Jones, Centralia; two brothers, Harold Dean Jones, New Bloomfield, and Dorris Jones and wife Margaret, Fulton; two sisters, Ethel Mae Miller, La Plata, and Georgia Hampton, New Bloomfield; two sister-in-laws, Irene Jones, Palmrya, and Nellie Jones, Mexico; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Emerson, and Everett Jones; and two sisters, Beatrice and Bernice Miller.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Audrain City County Home Health and Hospice or to the Middle River Cemetery Association. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
