James G. Martin

James G. "Jim" Martin, 59, of Mexico, died at 10:16 p.m., Saturday November 16, 2013, at Audrain Medical Center.

Funeral and Odd Fellows services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday at Pickering Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday from Noon until time of the service. Burial and graveside services with Rev. Fred Royer officiating will be held following the Odd Fellows service at East Lawn Memorial Park.

Jim was born in Mexico on Dec. 3, 1953, a son of Herbert and Mildred (Rivers) Martin. On Aug. 18, 1973, in Mexico, he married Anna Lee Sexton who survives at the home.

For many years Jim worked as a draftsman for AB Chance in Centralia. He was currently working as a security officer for William Woods University in Fulton.

Mr. Martin was very active in the Odd Fellows Lodge. He was a member of Callaway Lodge 105. He served as the Grand Master for the Grand Lodge of Missouri in 2007-2008, and was currently serving as the webmaster for the Grand Lodge. In 2009 he received the Grand Lodge Meritorious Award. He was also a member of First Baptist Church of Mexico.

In addition to his wife Anna Lee, survivors include his mother, Mildred L. Martin; one son, James Wayne Martin and wife Holly; one grandson, Alex Martin, all of Mexico; one brother, Ray Martin, Mexico; and one sister, Joyce Burns and husband John, Centralia.

He was preceded in death by his father and one brother Herbert "Dail" Martin II.

Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or to The Salvation Army. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65256.
