James W. Loyd



James W. Loyd, 86, of Mexico, died at 3:25 a.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2007, at Mexico Manor.


Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 9, 2007, at East Lawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Jerry Ostrom officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Pickering Funeral Home.


Mr. Loyd was born July 15, 1920, in Mexico, a son of Holly Dorn and Ada Elizabeth (Crum) Loyd.


On March 1, 1952, in Salem, Arkansas, he married Margaret Eileen Ernest. Mrs. Loyd survives.


Mr. Loyd had worked in construction for Dick Brown and for Reinhardt Construction Company. He also had worked for various other small construction companies. He was a member of Union Baptist Church.


Survivors include one daughter, Vivian E. Mackey and husband Charles, Mexico; one granddaughter, Angela Bakley and husband Mark, Kansas City; two great granddaughters, Caitlin and Mia Bakley; and several nieces and nephews.


Three sisters and four brothers preceded him in death.
