James Mize, 92, of Mexico, passed away at 8:45 p.m. Friday May 7, 2021, at Audrain Community Hospital in Mexico.

A celebration of life visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until Noon on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Pickering Funeral Home.

James was born on May 23, 1928, in Rowena, Missouri, the son of James and Callie Mae (Johnson) Mize. On July 22, 1955, he married Lorraine Kazmierzyak in California. Mrs. Mize preceded him in death on June 16, 1983.

James served in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Guam. After the service he was a tool and die maker. He had worked for A.P. Green in Mexico and for Peacock Engineering in Norwalk, California.

He is survived by two sons, Mark Mize, of Mexico, and Dana Mize (Bobbie Sue), also of Mexico; two daughters, Lori Lynn Smith-Duff, of Whittier, California, and Nina Ricks, of St. Joseph, Missouri; two sisters, Sharon DeLong, of Oklahoma, and Deborah Lynne Shirley, of Springfield, Missouri; two grandchildren, Heather Denise Smith-McCullars, of Fontana, California, and Shane Taylor Duff, of Whittier, California; and five great grandchildren, Kylie, Wyatt, Dilynn, Allyson, and Gunner.

James was preceded in death by his wife, three sisters and two brothers.
