Jane Young, 85, of Mexico, passed away Monday evening, January 19, 2026, in Columbia.

Private services will be held at a later date. Pickering Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Wanda Jane Kobush Young was born December 6, 1940, in Auxvasse, Missouri. She was the daughter of Arthur William and Gertrude (Knipp) Kobush. On November 1, 1959, in Mexico, she married Emory Gene Young at First Baptist Church of Mexico. Gene survives.

Jane worked as a nurse at Audrain Medical Center for over 25 years. She had also worked at hospitals in Hannibal and Lake of the Ozarks. She was an actively involved member of First Baptist Church of Mexico and she served for numerous years as the Church Media Library Director.

In addition to her husband Gene, survivors include one son, Jeff Young (Cathy), of Fulton; one daughter, Julie Gooch (Tim), of Mexico; one brother, Jerry Kobush (Martha), of Laddonia; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, James Arthur Kobush, and John William "JW" Kobush.
