Jared Allen Price, 77, of Mexico, died at 12:58 a.m. on Saturday April 01, 2017, at his home.

Memorial services and a Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at Pickering Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. His cremains will be placed at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, Mo. on Wednesday.

Mr. Price was born in St. Louis, MO, on April 19, 1939, son of Vernon E. and Pauline Susan (Weaver) Price. On September 9, 1961, he married Jane Davenport in St. Louis, MO. Mrs. Price survives.

Jared graduated Normandy High School and went on to attend Rankin Trade School. He was a veteran having served in the US Army. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Mexico until it closed. He was involved in many clubs and organizations such as Hebron Masonic Lodge #354 AF-AM where he served as secretary for 26 years, Mexico Chapter #27 RAM; Crusade Commandery #23 Knights Templar; Kiwanis Club of Mexico, past president; and American Legion.

Jared had owned and operated JT General Store, and had been store manager for Super X and Medicare-Glaser. He worked in retail for numerous years, and also had worked for several years for the Audrain County Sheriff's Department.

In addition to his wife Jane, he is survived by three daughters, Jeri Lynne Glasenhardt of Lees Summit, Jennifer Elaine Robinson and husband Richard of Wentzville, and Jana Lea Bailey and husband Brian of Lawson, Mo.; one sister, Janis Hunter and husband Lloyd of Tampa, FL; two grandsons, Brandon and James; three granddaughters, Samantha, Brittany, and Caitlin; several nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog Sassy.

Mr. Price was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, David Alvin Price; and one son in law Mike Glasenhardt.
