Jean M. Sterner, 90, of Mexico, died Saturday afternoon May 21, 2016, at her home in Mexico.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday May 27, 2016, at East Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Terry Kukuk officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 1 p.m. until service time at Pickering Funeral Home.

Jean was born in Columbia, Mo. on Feb. 2, 1926, a daughter of Robert and Affia (Pugh) March. On Oct. 17, 1947, in Mexico, she married Norris Sterner. Mr. Sterner preceded her in death on Jan. 12, 2009.

Jean worked for a brief time (8 years) at AP Green Refractories in timekeeping and payroll. She was a member of First Christian Church in Mexico.

Survivors include one daughter, Kay Sterner, Kansas City, Mo.; one grandson, Scott Green, of Portland, Ore.; and three great granddaughters, Hallie, Kylie and Kelsey Kay Green, and Jeans beloved feline companion Daisy.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by one daughter, Susan Sterner Hargrove; and one brother, Robert "Bob" March.

The family suggests memorials be given to the American Heart Association. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
