Jeremiah Matthias "Bill" Carson, 65, of Carthage, formerly of Mexico and Rush Hill, passed away at 1:31 a.m. Friday October 30, 2020, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday Nov. 4, 2020, at Pickering Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Bill was born April 19, 1955, in Mexico, the son of Russell Dean and Helen (Claywell) Carson.

He was raised in the Rush Hill area and he graduated from Community R-VI High School. In his younger days he loved riding motorcycles. After high school he worked at A.B. Chance for a few years before going into the ministry. He spent several years as a missionary.

Survivors include two brothers, Daniel Carson and Larry Carson, both of Mexico; two sisters, Phyllis Harre of Moberly, and Helen Rench of Augusta, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell "Rocky" Carson, and Jerry D. Carson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
