James R. "Jim" Rosenthal, 72, of Mexico, died at 7:19 p.m. Sunday Jan. 8, 2017, at his home.

There will be a visitation Thursday Jan. 12, 2017, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Pickering Funeral Home in Mexico. Burial will be at a later date in Beaver Dam Cemetery.

Jim was born in Mexico on Feb. 15, 1944, a son of George H. and Mary E. (Jesse) Rosenthal.

He owned and operated Jim's Alignment for 32 years. He enjoyed drag racing and hunting. He also for many years sponsored pulling trucks and softball teams. He was a member of Centennial Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Leslie Rosenthal, Mexico; one brother, George "Tom" Rosenthal and wife Kay, Mexico; two sisters, Ruth Ann Smith, Tucson, Az., and Nell Woods and husband Mike, Troy, Mo.; and three grandchildren, Katie, Corey, and Riley Rosenthal. He is also survived by one stepson Stephen "Scott" Kitchen and his children of Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant sister.

Memorials may be made to the J.B. and Greta B. Arthur Cancer Center. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
