Joann Veronica Stillson, 73, of Mexico, died at 1:20 a.m., Friday, January 5, 2018, at University Hospital in Columbia.

There will be a visitation to celebrate her life on Saturday Jan. 20, 2018, from Noon until 2 p.m. at the First United Pentecostal Church in Mexico.

Joann was born July 28, 1944, in Chicago, IL. She was the daughter of John and Ruth (Manka) Sampson. On December 27, 1965, in North Brooke, IL., she married Richard E. Stillson. Mr. Stillson preceded her in death on Nov. 20, 2011.

She had worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She attended First United Pentecostal Church in Mexico.

Survivors include her two daughters Julia Denham and her husband Wesley Aaron of Mexico, and Donna Bell of the state of Washington; four grandchildren, Robert Allen Bell of Illinois, Breanna Bennett, Erin (Nikki) Denham, Leigha Marie Denham, all of Mexico; and six great grandchildren, Julieona Garnett, Wesley Garnett, Paige Bennett, Avarie Bennett, Jaida Cannon, and Cadence Cannon, all of Mexico.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by one brother, John Sampson, and one infant brother.

Joann enjoyed painting ceramics, crafting and spending time with her grandchildren.
