Joanna Jaeger

Joanna Jaeger, 88, of Mexico, died at 4:30 p.m., Monday, March 3, 2014, at Boone Hospital, Columbia, Missouri. A visitation to celebrate her life will be held from 6 - 8 p.m., Friday, March 14, 2014, at Pickering Funeral Home. Private family burial will be heldat Elmwood Cemetery.

Joanna was born November 19, 1925, in Bellflower, Mo., a daughter of Alva McKinley and Nancy Irby (Wells) Morris. She was a 1943 graduate of Wellsville High School. In 1944 she moved to Mexico and worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell. Joanna married in 1946 and worked as a medical transcriptionist at Audrain Medical Center for 23 years.

Survivors include, three sons, Dennis Jaeger and wife Georgia, of Columbia, Dale Jaeger of Mexico and Darrell Jaeger (Angie Gentry)of Columbia; one daughter, Nancy Bird and husband Dennis of Mexico; one brother, Maynard Morris and wife June of St. Charles; one sister Mary E. Allen of Mexico; three grandchildren, Tom Scholar, Valerie White, and Jeff Jaeger; five great-grandchildren; Cody Jaeger, Ryan and Lucas White, Kelsey Jaeger and Britton Scholar and four nephews, Jerry, Dan, Rod and Mark Allen. She was preceded in death by her parents and one infant sister.

Memorials may be made to Missouri Heart Center of Columbia or the Audrain Humane Society in Mexico. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
