John D. Robertson, 70, of Mexico, was born on February 26, 1948, and unexpectedly left this earth to be with his heavenly father on July 7, 2018, at Boone Hospital.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday July 12, 2018, at Elmwood Cemetery with Steve and Sarah Kennemore officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of service at Pickering Funeral Home.

He is survived by his companion of 21 years, Carolyn Thompson of Mexico, one son William Robertson of Delaware, Ohio and granddaughter Sophie; five step-children, Debbie and Rod Myers of Centralia, Lena and Bobby Cross of Mexico, Jada Thompson of Columbia, Darren Thompson of Mexico, and Leslie and Brian Hackett of Alvin Texas; 30 step-grandchildren; 20 step-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and two sisters-in-law, Ruthann Montague and Helen Burkhead, who were a great help at the hospital.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Hilda Robertson, and his baby brother, Larry Robertson.

John served his country in the Navy from 1966-1972. He had much recognition from his service. He enjoyed everything about History. Trains were his life.
