Joyce Ann Coatsworth

Joyce Ann Coatsworth, 88, of Mexico, died Sunday August 28, 2016, at Saint Mary's - Audrain Hospital in Mexico.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday August 31, 2016, at East Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Tony Maxwell officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from noon until service time at Pickering Funeral Home.

Mrs. Coatsworth was born November 6, 1927, in Mexico, to James Clark Surber and Mary Emma Barnes Surber. She graduated from Mexico High School and attended the University of Missouri Columbia. On November 18, 1953, she married Alan DeWitt Coatsworth in Benton City, Missouri. Mr. Coatsworth died on September 7, 2009.

Joyce worked in bookkeeping at A. P. Greens and later with her husband at Economy Lumber and LaCrosse Lumber Company.

Survivors include one daughter, Jane Coatsworth, and one granddaughter, Emily Coatsworth, of Mexico; five nieces and nephews including James Surber of Somerville, Alabama, Greg Coatsworth, of Seattle, Washington, Donna Coatsworth, of Lees Summit, Missouri, Lisa Gilman French, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Scott Gilman, of Phoenix, Arizona.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by one son, Charles Coatsworth; and one brother Harold Surber.

Memorials may be made to Kentucky Road Christian Church. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
