Judy Lynn Nelson

Judy Lynn Nelson, 62, of Mexico, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at the University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at Pickering Funeral Home with Father Mark Poterfield officiating. Burial will follow at the Wellsville Cemetery in Wellsville, Missouri.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until the service time at the funeral home.

Judy was born on July 22, 1964 in Rockford, Illinois, the daughter of George Nelson Sr. and Lucille (Gorman) Nelson.

Judy had a way of bringing light wherever she went. She loved flowers, found comfort in her faith, and could brighten a room with her smile and personality. Her smile was infectious. She enjoyed watching old sitcoms and had a wonderful sense of humor that made her a true character in the best way. Judy often said that all she needed for a good life was "friends, staff, and naps," and she lived by those simple joys. Known affectionately as "Judy Bug" by her friends and the staff who cared for her, she formed many special friendships over the years. She will be deeply missed by the staff of Finck & Associates, whose lives she touched with her warmth, laughter, and unforgettable spirit.

Survivors include the staff at Finck & Associates; her friend Yvonne; and her special guy friend Timmy.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents.
