Karen S. Brandenburg-Berrey, 65, of Mexico, died at 9:46 p.m., Monday, March 14, 2016, at her home.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday March 19, 2016, at Lockewood Park Baptist Church in Mexico, with Rev. Randy Jones officiating.
Karen was born in Mexico on October 4, 1950, daughter of Elmer and Juanita (Williams) Jett. Over the years she worked at several places including A.P. Green Refractories, Bentley Boats, and the Missouri Veterans Home. She enjoyed camping, fishing, making crafts, and taking care of her Yorkies.
She is survived by one son, Kris Brandenburg, of the state of California; one daughter, Kelly Froechte and husband Paul, of Arizona; two sisters, Joyce Carr, of Mexico, and Bonnie Eikermann, of Herman; three grandchildren, Kyle and Tyler Jackson of Columbia, and Zach Jackson of Ft. Leonard Wood; Karen's long-time companion Gene Berrey and his family, his two sons, Bobby Berrey and wife Nancy, and Johnny Berrey and wife Carmen, all of Fulton; his two daughters, Debbie O'Rourke and husband Gene, and Kim Schoening, all of Fulton, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also is survived by dear friends of many years, Brenda Durham and Husband Keith, Mexico; and Lena Rose Dollens, Thompson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and one brother in law, Stan Carr.
Memorials may be made to Missouri Cancer Center, Missouri Veterans Home, or Lockewood Park Baptist Church. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
