Kathy L. Benton, 62, of Mexico, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024, at Caring Hearts and Hands in Columbia.

Private family services were held.

Kathy was born on September 23, 1962 in Moberly, the daughter of Donald Eugene Benton Sr. and Ruby Carolyn (Price) Benton.  Her beloved soulmate Orval Bise preceded her in death.

Kathy was a beloved member of Friendship Baptist Church, where she cherished her faith and the community. She had a heart full of warmth and enjoyed simple pleasures in life, especially her time playing bingo. Her laughter and joy were contagious, and she brought happiness to everyone she met. Kathy will be remembered for her kind spirit, her love for family and friends, and her unwavering devotion to her church. She leaves behind lasting memories that will be treasured by all who knew her.

Survivors include one son, Brian Benton of Callao; two daughters, Melinda Winfrey (Chris) of Mexico and Jennifer Crum (Andy) of Mexico; one brother Ronald Benton (Teresa) of Mokane; one sister-in-law Donna Garrett of Mokane; thirteen grandchildren, Oliva Benton, Kolton Benton, Keaton Benton, Kellie Baker, Emilee Baker, Hollie Baker, Lillian Baker, Ayden Crum, Madisyn Garriott, Kendyl Garriott, Harlee Garriott, Brooklyn Garriott, and Makayla Garriott; six nieces, Elisha Lewis, Nicole Murphy, Hazel Benton, Jessica Wallace, Christina Benton, and Aurora Schneider; and six nephews Andrew Benton, Anthony Benton, Arron Benton, Bobby Benton, Michael Schneider, and Mathew Schneider.

In addition to Orval, Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Felicia Benton and Carol Benton; one brother Donald Benton Jr.; two grandsons, Jonathon Garriott and Jamison Winfrey; one son-in-law Kenneth Baker; and her previous husband Donald Garrett.
