Lillian Ayline Howard Henage




Lillian Ayline Howard Henage, 92, of Mexico died at 2:14 a.m., on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Kings Daughters Home.



Graveside Memorial Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, June 1, 2014, at Elmwood Cemetery with Rev. David Nash officiating. Pickering Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.



Lillian was born July 14, 1921, in Molino, Missouri, a daughter of Rufus Austin and Lida Lucretia David (Yowell) Howard.



On February 22, 1942, in Mexico, she married Richard Mansfield Henage, who preceded her in death on December 30, 2005.



Lillian graduated with the Mexico High School Class of 1939. She was a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Mexico. She had been employed for 18 years at Fredendall & Wilkins, four years with International Shoe and six years with the Mexico Public Schools at the Vo-Tech School.



In 1987 she received an "Employee of the Month" award from the Mexico Public Schools, and in 1995 a "Pioneer in Education" award.



Survivors include two sons, Richard Thomas Henage and wife Debbie of Auxvasse, and Terry L. Henage and wife Diana of Mexico; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.



In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Martha Henage.



In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Christian Church or Mexico Area YMCA. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
