The Rev. Lloyd Daniel "Danny" Shelton, 85 of Mexico, passed away at 8:08 p.m. Saturday December 11, 2021, at Audrain Community Hospital in Mexico.

Lloyd was born in Centaur, Missouri, on March 25, 1936, the son of Leonard and Opal (Mason) Shelton.  On June 16, 1958 he married Eulena Grace Black.  She preceded him in death on December 11, 2004. Then on November 19, 2006, he married Sandra Kay (Mosley) who survives.

Danny was a retired Minister of the Pentecostal Church of God where he served for 45 years. He was also a veteran serving in the United States Air Force.

In addition to his wife Sandra, Survivors include one son Lloyd Dwayne (Loria) Shelton of Pacific Mo.; five daughters Limeda (Gene) Newell of Mexico, Leanna (Mike) Merideth of Jackson Mo, Latisha (Bruce) Hicks of Mexico, Lucinda (Darril) Newell of Auxvasse Mo., and Susan Moore of Hannibal Mo.; one sister Leola May Seigel of Irondale, Mo.; 16 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his first wife Eulena, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Leslie Shelton and Leonard Adam Shelton Jr.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 Wednesday December 15, 2021, at Big River Cemetery in Irondale, Mo. There will be no visitation. Pickering Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers will include his grandsons Ron and Joe Simmons, Darrell, Travis and Johnathan Newell, and Joshua Shelton.  Honorary Pallbearers will include Mike Shelton, Dustin Shelton, Andrew Cowder and Bruce Hicks, Jr.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be given to the Help Center in Mexico. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
