Louise Elizabeth Sears

Louise Elizabeth Sears, 95, of Centralia, died at 3:45 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at her home with all her daughters around her.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Pickering Funeral Home with Rev. Fran Schnarre officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5- 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Mexico.

Louise was born in Greene County, Illinois, on Feb. 7, 1918, a daughter of Jesse Cooper and Enley Emmaline (Abbott) Ashlock. On Aug. 30, 1934, in Carrollton, Ill., she married Victor Arthur Sears who preceded her in death on Mar. 13, 1998.

Mrs. Sears enjoyed square dancing with her husband, quilting, crochet, vegetable and flower gardening. She had been actively involved in the handicapped travelers club.

Survivors include six daughters, Mary Jane Jennings and husband Robert, Centralia, Barbara Inlow and husband Arthur, Centralia, Shirley Woods and husband Bill, Eldon, Mo., Sharon Jung, Mexico, Carol Dollens and husband Charlie, Centralia, and Betty Hoffman and husband Jim, Centralia; 16 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; 14 step great grandchildren; three sisters in law, Vivian Luke, Hugo, Okla., Vera Hurst, Alton, Ill., and Virginia Jardine, Pleasant Plains, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two sons, Victor Arthur Sears, Jr., and Roger Alvin Sears; one infant daughter, Elizabeth; two sons in law, Bobby Jung and Arthur Dollens; one grandson, Patrick Jennings; two sisters and three brothers.
