Lourena Ova Boyd Trammell




Lourena Ova Boyd Trammell, 87, of Mexico. Beloved wife, loving mother, and dedicated grandmother, passed away at 8 a.m., Monday, May 28, 2012, at Heritage Hall in Centralia.



Lourena was born in Huntsville, Alabama on Nov. 24, 1924, a daughter of Floyd T. and Ova Lee (Webster) Boyd.



She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Courtney G. Trammell, and two daughters, Adonis Brundege and husband Kenny R., and Carol Tarrants and husband Mike, all of Mexico. She will be greatly missed by her 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; Kenny G. and Amber Brundege, Kyliegh and Lucas, Mexico, Matt Tarrants, Emily and Rayna, Mexico, Courtney and Amanda Brundege and Audrey, St. Johns, Mich., Nathan Tarrants, James and Alexis, Mexico, and Whitney and Chad Gardner and Layla, Mexico; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.



Lourena was preceded in death by her three brothers, Floyd, E.O., and Kenneth Boyd.



Lourena worked at Redstone Arsenal during World War II making bombs. She married Courtney in Huntsville on Apr. 7, 1949, and moved to Missouri.



They settled in Mexico where she worked at Mexico Public Schools and later retired from Audrain Medical Center in 1989.



She was devoted to her family and friends and will long be missed by all of them.



Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, at Pickering Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Atkinson officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park in Mexico.
