Margaret was born on November 17, 1924 in Columbia, the daughter of William and Nora (Foster) Black. On May 24, 1941 she married John Steuber in Columbia, who preceded her in death on March 13, 2001.
She was a member of Lockwood Baptist Church and formerly of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Molino, where she lovingly served as a Sunday school teacher and treasurer until its closure. She devoted 25 years of her life to working for Florsheim Shoe Company until it closed; she and one other employee were the last ones to close the door for the final time the day it closed. She later worked at Walmart for two years. In her spare time, she found joy and comfort in reading her Bible, square dancing, and quilting treasured pieces for her family.
