Marjorie J. Hickman




Majorie J. Hickman, of Mexico, died at 7:05 p.m., July 15, 2012 at The Neighborhoods Skilled Nursing Facility in Columbia. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 18, at Southside Christian Church with Dan Sites and Chris Harley officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Southside Christian Church. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park.



Marjorie was born on April 10, 1933 in Perry, a daughter of Clarence and Martha (Luckett) Ames. Marjorie Ames and James Hickman were married Jan. 22, 1972.



In addition to her husband James she is survived by two daughters Summer Hickman of Mexico and Sara Hughes of Kansas City, Mo; four granddaughters, Alexzandra, Aaliyah, Angel, and Emarra; one grandson, Amare; three sisters Doris Calhoon of Colona, Il, Eva Myrick of Pea Ridge, Ark., and Perk Pearson of Mexico; and numerous nephews and nieces.



She was preceded in death by one sister Althea Girard, two brothers Clarence Ames Jr. and Billy Ames, and her parents.



Marjorie was a member of the Southside Christian Church, PEO Chapter DK, member of the Red Hat Society, and Red Hot Mamas. She also served as the Vice-President and Secretary for Hickman Foods Inc.



Memorials may be made to Southside Christian Church or YMCA Capital Campaign Fund and sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
