Martin J. Andresen



Martin John Andresen, 79, of Mexico, died at 7:05 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007, at Golden Living Center - Pin Oaks in Mexico.


Amemorial service will be held on Friday, Sept. 7, at 10:30 a.m., at Pickering Funeral Home in Mexico with Rev. Terry Kukuk officiating. There will be no visitation. Mr. Andresen will be cremated and his cremains placed in the Columbarium at First Presbyterian Church in Mexico where he was a member.


Martin was born Feb. 9, 1928, in New York City, New York, a son of John Arne and Anna Iva (Martin) Andresen. On July 28, 1961 in Mexico he married Mary Margaret Smith. Mary Margaret survives at the home.


Mr. Andresen was career military serving in both the US Navy and the Air Force. He also worked as a Photographer for Trans World Airlines and from 1958 through 1961 he was chief photographer for the Columbia Daily Tribune. He retired in 1990 from both military and civilian service.


He was a member of American Legion Post 26 in Mexico and he had worked as a volunteer at Audrain Medical Center.


In addition to his wife survivors include three sons, Paul A. Andresen and wife Marie, Berryville, Ark., Martin T. Andresen and wife Milli, Austin, Tex., and Scott A. Andresen and wife Julie, Hannibal; two daughters, Ellen Kamphaus and husband Gary Miner, Kansas City, Mo., and Mary J. Andresen, Mexico; one brother, Robert P. Andresen, Edwardsburg, Mich.; three grandchildren, Nicholas Kamphaus and wife Ellery, Greeley, Col., John Kamphaus, Independence, and Stephen Andresen, Mexico; and three great-grandchildren.


The family suggests memorials be given to the First Presbyterian Church in Mexico. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
