Martin Randall Jones, 75, of Mexico, passed away at 6:06 a.m. Saturday April 29, 2023, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mexico.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday May 2, 2023, at Pickering Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time.

Martin was born May 15, 1947, in Macon, Missouri. He was the son of David Lloyd and Beulah Mae (Randall) Jones.

He graduated from high school in New Cambria. He received his Master's in Education from Truman.

Martin is a veteran. He served in the US Army during Vietnam. He spent his career in Education as an Art Teacher at Mexico Jr. High for 28 years retiring in 2000.

Martin was very active in his community, always working to make it better. He served on the Audrain County Historical Society Board, Mexico Area Community Theatre Board, Simmons' Stables Preservation Board, City of Mexico Arts Council Board, and the Mexico Artists' Guild Board.

He is survived by one brother, Phillip L. Jones (Pamela), of New Cambria; two nephews, Philip Shane Jones, of St. Louis, and Ryan Jones, of New Cambria; and one niece, Cheryl Switzer, of Anabel, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
