Mary E. Nettles

Mary E. Nettles, 96, of Mexico, died at 10:20 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2007, at Pin Oaks Nursing Center.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Oakland Cemetery (New Addition) in Columbia, under the direction of Pickering Funeral Home. There will be no visitation.

Mrs. Nettles was born on Oct. 7, 1910, in Paducah, Kentucky, the daughter of Wilson Turner and Rhoda Elvera (Bean) Moore. On Oct. 7, 1936, she married O.G. Gene Nettles, who died on Feb. 28, 1980. She and her husband owned and operated a shoe repair and dry cleaning shop for many years. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Paducah.

Survivors include one son, Gene Nettles and wife Harriett, Mexico; 5 grandchildren and 4 step grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Three brothers and one daughter, Mauree Neal, preceded her in death.
