Mary Elizabeth Rosenthal

Mary Elizabeth Rosenthal, 93, of Mexico, died at 7:10 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012, at Pin Oaks/Golden Living Center in Mexico. Funeral Services will be Monday January 30, at 11 a.m., at Pickering Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday from 3-5 p.m. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Mary was born on Dec. 6, 1918, in Mexico, a daughter of Earl Thomas and Nellie Mary (Pulis) Jesse. On Sept. 22, 1935, she married George H. Rosenthal, who preceded her in death March 4, 1995.

She was a member of Friendship Baptist church in Mexico. One of the things that she was most known for was her cooking, especially her apple pies which she loved to share with her friends.

Mary is survived by two sons, George "Tom" Rosenthal and wife Kay, Mexico, James "Jim" R. Rosenthal, Mexico; two daughters, Ruth Ann Smith, Tucson, Ariz, Nell M. Woods and husband Mike, Troy, Mo.; two sisters, Edna Lierheimer, Mexico, Nancy Miller, Mexico; five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren

In addition to her husband George, she was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Mary Frances; one sister, Anna M.; one brother Raymond; and one grandson Jerry.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friendship Baptist Church, sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
