Mary Jane Trya, 61, of Independence, formerly of Mexico, passed away Saturday December 13, 2025, at St. Luke's East in Lee's Summit.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Open Arms Community of Christ, 1021 West College Street, Independence, Missouri with Pastor Jason Sievers and Pastor Jason Brownlee officiating.

Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Columbarium at First Presbyterian Church in Mexico, Missouri.

Mary Jane was born January 15, 1964, she was the daughter of Martin and Mary Margaret (Smith) Andresen. On December 9, 2011, in Mexico, she married Thomas F. Tyra. Tom preceded her in death on June 18, 2012.

Survivors include one son, Stephen Robert Andresen, of Independence, one brother, Paul A. Andresen (Marie), of Wyoming, Michigan; and one sister, C. Ellen Miner (Gary), of Edgerton, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
