Mathew Turpin

Mathew Charles Turpin, 30, of Mexico, died Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at University Hospital in Columbia.

He was born Feb. 2, 1979, a son of Charles F. and Carolyn (Wasson) Turpin. On Oct. 2, 2006 he married Vickie Barnes in Moberly. Mrs. Turpin survives at the home.

He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He enjoyed talking on the CB radio, fishing and spending time with family.

In addition to his wife survivors include his mother, Carol Turpin, Mexico; one son, Clinton Mathew Turpin, Mexico; one step-daughter, Stephanie Barnes, Mexico; one sister, Cheryl Dick, Mexico; mother-in-law, Irma Barnes, Mexico; and numerous friends and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m., at Pickering Funeral Home with Rev. David Hartgrove officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
