Maxine Johnson

Maxine Johnson, 80, of Mexico, died at 7 p.m., Friday, March 5, 2010, at Golden Living Center/Pin Oaks.

Funeral services will beheld at 2 p.m. Monday, March 8, 2010, at Pickering Funeral Home with Rev. David Nash officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 1 - 2 p.m. Burialwill bein East Lawn Memorial Park.

Maxine was born May 18, 1929, in Mexico, a daughter of James L. and Beatrice Blanton (Green) Mitchell. On October 25, 1952 in Mexico she married Ralph E. Johnson who preceded her in death on May 26, 1991.

Maxine worked at Hagan s Clothing in Mexico and Dillard s in Columbia as a clothing sales associate. She also at one time worked for the Red Cross. She was a member of First Christian Church.

Survivors include one son, Lynn Eric Rick Johnson and wife Robin, Ft. Worth, Texas; one daughter, Robin Ann Lawrence and husband Mark, Overland Park, Kansas; two sisters, Billye Jane Johnson, Des Moines, Iowa, and Bonnie Olson and husband Jack, Holliston, Massachusetts; four grandchildren, Lindsey Beniot, Patrick Lawrence, and Cooper and Blake Johnson; two great-grandchildren, Emerson and Sam; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be given to the Pin Oaks Residents Fund. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
