Meda Irene Brixie, 87, of Mexico, completed her journey to Heaven on November 25, 2015. A Memorial service will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday Dec. 12. The service will be at the family's personal residence located at 715 E. Love, Mexico.

Meda was attended and First Baptist and Centennial Church, and regularly attended activities at the Senor Center with her daughter. Meda spent years serving in children's ministry, and always stayed young at heart. She enjoyed singing, line dancing, working with children, crocheting, and reading. Meda cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. Her great-grandchildren were her pride and joy.

We know the sorrow and regret will come, but now there is Thankfulness and a little bit of envy. We are thankful for the life she led and all the ways she touched our lives. We are grateful for the wonderful woman who helped raise or befriend us. Our Mother, Grandmother, Nana, and friend left a part of herself in all of our lives, and we will miss her until the day we see her again. In Christ there are no goodbyes, there is no end.

Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Melander and Verna Brixie, both of Mexico; two sons, Robert Melander, and Randy Brixie; five grandchildren, Sarah Femrite, Troy Reed, Autmn Brixie, Amber Nelson, and Christian Melander; 8 great-grandchildren, Alexia Femrite, Malea Reed, Cheyenne Brixie Mary, Allison, and Aaron Melander, and Tyler and Erik Nelson

She was preceded in death by her husband William, one sister, Maxine, and two grandchildren, Dale and Nancy.
