Mildred L. Martin

Mildred Louise Martin, 81, of Mexico, died at 6:05 a.m., Thursday, January 1, 2015, at SSM Health-St. Mary's Hospital-Audrain.

Graveside Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, at East Lawn Memorial Park with Ken Mantle officiating. Visitation will be from 10 until 10:30 a.m. Monday at Pickering Funeral Home.

Mildred was born July 16, 1933, in Mexico, a daughter of Kenneth R. and Anna Viola (Jones) Rivers. On October 29, 1949, in Mexico, she married Herbert Martin, Sr., who preceded her in death on March 2, 1997.

She was a member of Kentucky Road Christian Church. Mildred was a life member of the D.A.V. Auxiliary, a member of both the Mexico and Centralia Rebecca Lodges and she had received the Decoration of Chivalry.

Survivors include one son, Calvin Ray Martin, Mexico; one daughter, Joyce Elaine Burns and husband John, Centralia; one brother, William L. Rivers, Broken Arrow, Okla; three grandsons; nine great-grandchildren; four step grandchildren; and several step great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death two sons, Herbert Dail Martin II, and James Gordon Martin; three brothers, James Clarence Rivers, Kenneth Rivers, Jr., and Robert M. Rivers; one sister, Dorothy Mae Sullivan; two granddaughters; and one grandson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kentucky Road Christian Church. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
