Milton Meeks, 64, of Durant, OK, formerly of Mexico, died Friday June 5, 2020, at his home in Durant.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday June 13, 2020, at Pickering Funeral Home with Rev. Dusty Giles and Pastor Everett Bradshaw officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park.

Milton was born Nov. 11, 1955, in Mexico, the son of Adrain and Frances (Norman) Meeks. On Nov. 27, 1976, he married Mary L. Allen who survives at the home.

Milton had previously worked at Kline's Department Store, MFA, operated Meeks Photography, Audrain Medical Center, and for Verizon. He had also been a volunteer firefighter with Little Dixie Fire Department. He was a member of Freedom of the Road Riders – Local #13, Gold Wing Road Riders in Florida, and he was a Ham Radio operator. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Mexico.

In addition to his wife Mary, survivors include, a sister in law that was raised in the home, Judy Wasson (Ron), Mexico, and they also helped raise three brothers in law, Kenneth Allen (Sara), Mexico, John Allen, Poplar Bluff, and George Allen (Jeanette), Colbert, OK; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the family. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.

The general public is welcome to attend while following social distancing guidelines.  Please stay six feet apart and avoid close contact. Anyone in attendance is asked to wear a mask or other personal protective equipment.
