Nancy Lu Guthrie, 63, of Mexico, died Sunday, August 11, 2019, at her home.

Memorial Services will be at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14, at Pickering Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Stott officiating. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Nancy was born February 16, 1956, in Monroe, Louisiana, the daughter of Frank and Carolyn (Hendrix) Whitard.  On May 25, 1979, in Dubach, Louisiana, she married Samuel T. Guthrie.

Nancy obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Records from Louisiana Tech University. She worked in medical records in Louisiana, Arkansas, Saudi Arabia and Germany. She had also worked as an administrative assistant at Missouri Military Academy.

Mrs. Guthrie was a member of Genesis Church. She loved volunteering for the church and Mexico Public Schools, especially with the band and choir. When her children were younger, Nancy volunteered many hours at Hawthorne Elementary.

Survivors include her husband, Sam Guthrie of the home; five children, Keith Guthrie of Portland, Oregon, Sarah (Chris) Murdock of Mexico, Stefanie (Andrew) Lombardo of Ozark, Stephen Guthrie of Mexico, and Katie Guthrie of Ozark; four grandchildren, Madison Lombardo, Cara Murdock, Joseph Lombardo, and Kayla Murdock; one brother, Allen (Lisa Jane) Whitard of Dubach, Louisiana; and one sister, Sue Ellen (Jim) McCallum of Ruston, Louisiana.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents.
