Norma Louise (Hamilton) Meyer, 83, of Slippery Rock, PA, formerly of Mexico passed away on March 6, 2016, at Monroe Manor in Paris, Missouri.
Norma was born February 26, 1933, in Fulton, Missouri, the daughter of Howard Hamilton and Juanita (Dunn) Hamilton. On Aug. 12, 1955, in Fulton she married Bob Hamilton, who preceded her in death on May 21, 1997.
On June 5, 2004, she married Howard Eugene Meyer who survives at their home in Slippery Rock, PA along with his sons: James Meyer and wife Joyce of Parker, PA, Michael Meyer, Slippery Rock, PA and Kenneth Meyer, Modesto, CA and his grandchildren: Jennifer, Sam, Kaylee, Nathan and Michael; and 2 great grandchildren. Norma is survived by three sons, Marty Hamilton and wife Patty, Atlanta, GA, Gregg Hamilton, Mexico, Chris Hamilton and wife Jennifer, Mexico; daughter Jamie Foster and husband John, Denver, CO, and son-in-law Ron Landreth, Mexico; 9 grandchildren, Jarod Fierge, Shelbi Hamilton, Allison Giles, Megan Giles, Melissa Giles, Jake Landreth, Haley Landreth, Casey Hamilton, and Kayla Hamilton; and 3 great grandchildren.
In addition to her first husband she was preceded in death one brother, Donald Hamilton; and one daughter Jill (Hamilton) Landreth, and one step-daughter, Rebecca Louise Meyer.
Norma was fond of watching her husband and children play all sports as they grew up. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and anything she could do to get outside and enjoy the sunshine. She was active in the Khoury League boys and girls baseballs little league, whether to keep score at numerous games, or just root her children and others on to victory. Her sportsmanship was impeccable whether winning or losing. Her presence at the ball fields was felt by all who knew her. During her career, Norma enjoyed working for Central Dairy, AP Greens, the IRS, Turner Rodgers Insurance agency and Murphy Chiropractic. Upon retiring, Norma was fortunate to find love again with "Gene" Meyer. They enjoyed traveling, dancing, spending time with family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Alzheimer's charity of choice.
Visitation will be held from 5 - 7 p.m. Thursday, March 10, at Pickering Funeral Home in Mexico. Memorial services will be determined at a later date.
