Opal O Toole

Opal O Toole, 92, of Mexico, died Friday, Nov. 05, 2010, at 10:25 a.m., at Monroe Manor Nursing Home in Paris.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday Nov. 10, at Pickering Funeral Home with Fr. John Schmitz officiating. Visitation will be from 1 until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home .

Opal Ester Wright was born Aug. 14, 1918, to Ruth (Rockwood) and John H. Wright. She married the love of her life Bernard Pete O Toole on October 3, 1936, in Columbia. They were blessed with 7 children. He preceded her in death and has been waiting for her since July of 1973.

She was a great pastry cook and loved being a housewife and mother, although she did work in dietary services of the Audrain Medical Center for approximately 10 yrs. after the death of her husband.

She is survived by two sons, Bernard and wife Linda, Riverdale, Utah, and Raymond and wife Judy, Columbia; five daughters, Mrs. Charles (Shirley) Lovell, Mexico, Mrs. Stanley (Joan) Wheeler, Mexico, Mrs. Earl (Debera) May, Stoutsville, Mo., Connie Henderson, Mexico, and Mrs. Tom (Mary) Balser, Shelbyville, Mo.; 18 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Ruby (Nichols) Wright; three brothers, Howard, Elmer, and Henry Wright; and one sister, Ruby Neal.

Memorials may be made to the Special Needs Unit at Monroe Manor Nursing Home and sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
