Opal Witten, 77, of Mexico, died at 5:05 p.m., Dec. 13, 2005, at Pin Oaks Nursing Center in Mexico.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16, 2005, at Pickering Funeral Home with Russell Pulis officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Mrs. Witten was born on November 8, 1928, in Mexico, a daughter of Omer Mitchell and Mabel Willingham Roberts. She was an operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone in Mexico. On Oct. 4, 1946, she married Tandy L. Witten, who died on Oct. 9, 1971. Survivors include one son, Terry Witten, Oak Grove; a daughter, Nancy Stuart and husband Melvin, Graham, Tex.; four brothers, Thomas Roberts and wife Joan, and Carl Roberts and wife Hiroko, all of Mexico, Larry Roberts and wife Jacqueline, Independence, and Jim Roberts, Oklahoma City, Okla.; nine grandchildren, Tonya Kuda, Bruner, Mo., Mike McDonald of the state of Hawaii, Bridget Lipscomb, Platte City, Tony Lipscomb, Weston, April Lipscomb, Platte City, Sheridan Witten, Ft. Cobb, Okla., Ben Witten, Ft. Cobb, Okla., Lauren Deckert, Oak Grove, and Clayton Witten, Oak Grove; and five great grandchildren, Kortney Kuda, Bruner, Mallory Kuda, Laddonia, Avis Lipscomb, Platte City, Tyler Lipscomb, Weston, and Kaden Witten, Ft. Cobb, Okla. In addition to her husband and parents, one brother, Donald Roberts, preceded her in death. Memorials may be given to the Central Missouri Kidney Association and sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
