Paul Leonard Myers, 70, of Jefferson City, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2020, at his home.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 16, at Pickering Funeral Home in Mexico with Kevin Wilkerson officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park in Mexico.

Visitation is Monday from 12 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Paul was born on May 2, 1949 in Martinsburg, West Virginia, the son of Paul Eugene and Gloria Lorraine (Williams) Myers. On October 30, 1970 in Mexico, he married Bonny Jo Byrd. She passed away on May 29, 2000.

Mr. Myers was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam. Years ago, he worked at A.P. Greens in Mexico. After moving to Jefferson City, he worked at the Capitol Building. The Senate and House took special care of him and his friend, Bettie Jett, and honored them with a retirement party.

Paul was a Presbyterian by faith. He loved music, especially the old time country songs and old time rock-n-roll. He played the guitar, loved to sing and had been in a band called the "Bonnevilles". Paul was artistic and enjoyed woodworking. He also loved to garden. He had the world's greatest sense of humor and will definitely be missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his children, Janay (Timothy) Wyatt of Jefferson City, Timmie (Kay) Hatfield of Lee's Summit, Steve Hatfield of Leavenworth, Kansas, Terry (Lisa) Hatfield of Lee's Summit, Judy Snyder of Grain Valley, Tammy (Terry) Hultz of  Mexico, Darren (Tammy) Hatfield of Jefferson City, and Rita (Mike) Schoppert of Martinsburg, West Virginia; 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; one sister, Becky (Erwin) Allen of Martinsburg, West Virginia; one brother, Halvard (Eleanor) Myers of Martinsburg, West Virginia; and his companion, Bettie Jett of Jefferson City.

In addition to his wife, Bonny, Paul was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, Britnee Prucha; and one brother, Gene Myers.
