Pauline Newbrough, 90, of Moberly, formerly of Mexico and Centralia, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Boone Hospital in Columbia.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Pickering Funeral Home with minister Mark White and minister Jim Dalrymple, officiating.

Visitation will be on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Pauline was born on March 27, 1935 in Lentner, Missouri, the daughter of Paul and Mary (Martin) Maupin.  On September 5, 1954 she married Charles T. Young who preceded her in death on November 21, 2012 and with whom they had four children. On October 12, 2013 she married Carl Newbrough, who survives.

Pauline was a homemaker who loved taking care of her family. After her children were grown, she was employed as a cook for the King's Daughters Home, Missouri Military Academy, and the Williams Center, where she was well known for her skills in the kitchen. Her cooking was something everyone loved and was one of the many ways she showed care for others.

She was a devoted Christian and a member of the Church of Christ in Centralia and formerly at Southside Christian and Sunrise Christian Churches, both of Mexico. She also attended the Sunset Gardens Bible Study and served as a board member of Sunset Gardens.

Gardening was one of her favorite pastimes, and she took pride in the flowers and plants she tended. She cared for many children as an in-home babysitter and created a place where others felt safe and welcome.  She also set a strong example for family and friends through the way she managed her diabetes, inspiring others with her discipline and determination. Above all else, she was devoted to her family.

In addition to her husband Carl, survivors from her marriage to Charles T. Young include, one son, Micheal Young (Trude Mattingly) of Devonport, New Zealand; two daughters, Sharon Dollens (Fred) of Thompson and Charlotte Eckley (Dwayne) of Springfield; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Dalrymple (Jim), Jon Iman (Heather), Dallas Dollens (Rachel), Amanda Raemer (Sven), Katherine Butrum (Michael), Leigha Eckley, and Chase Eckley (MaCayla); 13 great grandchildren, Cannon, Grace, Juliana, Sawyer, Kinsley, Dakota, Ellie, Will, Fox, Arlo, Giavanna, Hans, Axel.

Carl's children, one son, Wade Newbrough (Melody) of Perryville; one daughter, Diane Rhea (Rich) of Huntsville; Carl's ten grandchildren, Jason Conklin (Danielle), Joshua Conklin (Brie), Jacob Conklin (Nicole), Zakk Newbrough (Kailey), Hailey Johnson (Spencer), Gwynivere Newbrough, Wyatt Newbrough, Chris Rhea (Caitlin), Lauren Kleinschmit (Kasey), and Patrick Rhea (Jasmine); and Carl's 14 great grandchildren, Ella, Madi, Sydney, Noelle, Alyesse, Jackson, Emma, Lily, Anderson, Azayla, Daylan, Hudson, Madi, and Titus.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Charles T. Young; parents; one daughter, Joyce (Young) Iman; twin sister, Opaldene Newbrough; Carl's children, one son, Shane Newbrough; five brothers, Alfred, Bob, Buster, Gene and J.W. Maupin; one half-brother James Maupin; and one half-sister, Geraldene May.
