Quentin, the oldest son of Clarence L. Bakke and Bertha V. Bakke, died at 1:30 P.M. Saturday, April 5, 2008, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mexico.

Private graveside services were held Monday, April 07, 2008, at East Lawn Memorial Park.

He served his family; loving wife Nancy, daughter Sally Jo Roney, Miami, Fla., and sons Quentin B. Bakke, Mexico, and Mark V. Bakke, Coral Gables, Fla. Also surviving are his two granddaughters, Amy E. Bakke, Mexico, and Jill S. Roney, Miami, Fla. He served his country as a Major in the US Air Force; and served his community as a professional educator.

His spiritual being followed the Golden Rule, as he walked by faith and not by sight. He always tried to show kindness without prejudice and without delay, for you only take this road once.

So be it.

The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Mexico YMCA, for youth is our greatest asset.
