Raymond B. Jesse

Raymond B. Jesse, 89, of Mexico, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010, at his home.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 22, 2010, at 1 p.m., at Pickering Funeral Home with the Rev. Norman Forman officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park.

Mr. Jesse was born on July 3, 1921, in Mexico, a son of Earl Thomas and Nellie Mary Jesse. On July 3, 1943, in Mexico, he married PhyllisJean Woodruff, who preceded him in death in 2008. He enlisted in the army in 1942 and returned from WWII in 1946.

Farming was his way of life and in his spare time he always enjoyed bowling, cards and dominoes. He was a very active member of Centennial Baptist Church.

He is survived by five sons, George Jesse and wife Joyce, Columbia, Harley Jesse, Mexico, Stanley Jesse and wife Sarah, Thompson, Tony Jesse and wife Sherry,Jefferson City, and Tim Jesse and wife Dolly, Mexico; one daughter Connie Cole, Atlantic Beach, Fla.; three sisters, Mary Elizabeth Rosenthal, Nancy Miller,Edna Lierheimer, all of Mexico; onefoster brother Ed Kreyling, Mexico;two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Davidson and Doris Woodruff, both of Mexico; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Stacey Jesse and one sister, Anna Mae Hubble.
