Richard M. "Dick" Henage, 86, of Mexico, died at 2:25 p.m. Dec. 30, 2005, at Audrain Medical Center.Mr. Henage was born on April 25, 1919, in Fulton, a son of Hiram R. and Pearl F. Rickman Henage. On Feb. 22, 1942, in Mexico, he married Lillian A. Howard who survives at the home. Visitation will be on Sunday from 5 until 7 p.m. at Pickering Funeral Home. Private family services will be held on Monday. Mr. Henage worked as an electrician at A.P. Green Co. for 37 years, retiring in 1981. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was stationed in the South Pacific. He attained the rank of Staff Sergeant and was awarded a Purple Heart. He was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Mexico, a board member of Arthur Hills Golf Association, and President of the Cub Scouts at Hawthorne Elementary School. In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Richard T. Henage and wife Martha, Auxvasse, and Terry L. Henage and wife Diana, Mexico; one brother, Freeman N. Henage, Holts Summit; one sister, Peggy Love, Mexico; five grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. His parents and two sisters, Doris Barker and Elsie Mae Henage, preceded him in death. Memorials may be given to the First Christian Church Scholarship Fund, YMCA, or Emma Callahan Girls Golf Scholarship.
