Robert Hinten




Robert "Bob" Hinten, 79, of Mexico, died at 9:00 a.m., Sunday, June 8, 2014, in St. Louis.



Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Monday, June 16, 2014, at Pickering Funeral Home with Fr. Mark Porterfield officiating. Visitation will be from 4 - 6 p.m., Sunday. Burial will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Jacksonville.



Bob was born December 15, 1934, in Thompson, Mo., a son of Earl Montraville and Mable Frances (Riddle) Hinten.



On November 27, 1954, in Mexico, he married Constance JoAnn Lotz, who survives at the home.



Bob was retired from the US Army where he had been a Communications Specialist and a 1st Sergeant. After retiring from the Army he was employed for 18 years with the EPA. Bob was a member of St. Brendan Catholic Church.



In addition to his wife, survivors include one son, Steven R. Hinten and wife Patricia of Dayton, Ohio; one daughter-in-law Deborah Hinten of Littleton, N.H.; one brother, Clifford Hinten and wife Vicki of Mexico; and one sister, Jessie Exendine and husband Eugene of Mexico, and five grandchildren.



In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Robert "Monty" Hinten.



In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
