Robert Earl "Duck" Johnson, 79, of Fulton, died at 1 p.m., Saturday, November 28, 2015, at University Hospital in Columbia.


Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at Lockewood Park Baptist Church in Mexico with Rev. Randy Jones officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11 am until service time. Private family burial will be at a later date.


Robert was born in Centralia, MO on March 18, 1936, a son of Arthur Leonard and Hazel Irene (VanVactor) Johnson. On August 14, 1988, in Auxvasse, he married Joyce Louise Berry who survives.


Mr. Johnson was a veteran of the US Army. Years ago he worked for Kable Dairy. For over 30 years he worked as a route salesman for Sudden Service Cleaners, retiring in 1999.


He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He enjoyed camping and fishing, motor racing, listening to bluegrass music, St. Louis Cardinals baseball, collecting Eagles and he loved his pet cats, Smokey and Pepper.


In addition to his wife survivors include one son, Daniel Johnson and wife Marla, Ashland; two daughters, Michelle Simonin and husband Johnny, Fulton, and Kimberly Munford, Mexico; three step-sons, Donnie Acton, Ricky Acton, Bobby Berry, all of Columbia; two step-daughters, Teresa Johnson and Rhonda Berry, both of Des Moines, IA; one sister, Joyce Pauley and husband Jerry, Fulton; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Babe Johnson, an infant sister, and one grandson, Michael Steffen.
