Robert Johnston
Robert "Bob" Johnston, 72 of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at Boone Hospital in Columbia.
Visitation will be held from 4 - 6 p.m., Sunday, March 2, 2014, at Pickering Funeral Home. Private family burial will be held at a later date in Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Jacksonville.
Bob was born January 19, 1942, in Mexico, a son of Bert Johnston, Jr. and Mary Elizabeth (Robison) Johnston. On July 12, 1980, in Vandalia he married Teresa Douchant who survives at the home.
He was a Veteran of the Army. He worked as an electrician at A.B. Chance and Love Electric. He had also been a Deputy Sheriff for Audrain County. Bob enjoyed fishing and hunting and he loved his beagles.
In addition to his wife, survivors include, two sons, Shawn Johnston and wife Keena of Mexico, and Jermey Johnston and wife Jennifer of Edmonson, Alberta, Canada; one brother, James "Jim" Johnston and wife Mary of Paris; three sisters, Deloris "Dee" Wells and husband Larry of Mexico, Fannie Garrett of Mexico, and Connie Duvall of Los Angles, Calif.; one aunt, Kathleen Lowe of Vandalia; and two grandchildren, Kenneth and Colin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Larry Ray Johnston, and his step father, Espy Duvall, who raised him.
Memorials may be made to the Dream Factory. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
