Roger M. Money, 81, of Mexico, died at 5:15 p.m., Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at SSM St. Mary's - Audrain in Mexico.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Pickering Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Sparks and Rev. Jeff Stott officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Roger was born Nov. 6, 1934, in Campbell, Texas, a son of Henry Lester and Ida Faye (Quisenberry) Money. On April 18, 1959, in Dallas, he married Shirley Ann Hice who survives.

Roger worked for a wholesale pharmaceutical company in Dallas, Texas for 45 years and retired in 1997. After he and Shirley both retired they moved to Mexico to be near their daughter and her family. His greatest joy was spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Most of all he cherished the time that he was able to spend with his great grandson Logan.

Roger loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed watching old westerns and the St. Louis Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys as well as many other sports. He was a member of Mexico Golden K and Genesis Church, many years member of "the mighty eight", he had volunteered at AMC, and worked as support staff at Pickering Funeral Home.

Roger was very proud to be a veteran and had spent 5 years serving in the US Army.

Most people knew Roger as someone that loved to talk about his family. He was a kind sweet man who loved God, his family and his church family.

In addition to his wife Shirley, survivors include one daughter, Gail Pickering and husband David of Mexico; two grandchildren, Bethanie Baker and husband Luke of Ashland, and Ryan Pickering and wife Jessica of Lenexa, Kansas; one great grandson Logan Baker; one sister in law Billie Jean Steward and husband Kenneth of Dallas; and his exchange program "granddaughter", Nayab Mir of Pakistan. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
